A Pond With A Swan

Last year, Daniel Cairns and I drove up to Mt Gambier to film our friends on their Motor Cross Bikes. We pumped out a video which can be seen here:

The above video is our second trip to Mt Gambier shot only 2 weeks ago. Filmed by myself, Dan Cairns and Costa Rofe. We used 3 Canon DSLR’s and 3 Go Pro Cameras to shoot this.

Our submission for the “This Is My Story” video contest by JAG35 and IndieSpot TV

My submission for Canon’s “Head On” Self Portrait Competition, in celebration of Canon’s EOS Festival of Photography. Didn’t win, however I made the top 20 and had fun shooting the photo.

On 31st of March, Sonia and I had a family photoshoot with a great family. The shoot marked the couples 10 Year Wedding Anniversary.
The location was at Port Willunga, South Australia and the weather was perfect.

So I was on our Canon 50D as second camera, whilst my wife Sonia was on the 5DMKII as main camera.
One feature about the 50D that has over the 5DMKII, is its frames per second. At 6.3fps, its relatively fast and so with a quick shutter speed, I was able to capture a lot of great candid moments.
When we got home, I was scrolling through the 50D photos in Adobe Bridge and noticed that I had taken enough photo sequences to be together a little “stop-motion” video together of the shoot. The result is the above video.

We also got Daniel Cairns to film the shoot on his Canon 60D, so we are all looking forward to that when he finishes with the video. Here are a couple of BTS shots of the shoot.

Had the privilege of shooting a music video with a band from Adelaide called ‘Is This Art?’. Was great fun and hopefully plenty more to come. Below are some behind the scene’s shots.

On the 15th of January 2011, my little sister got married to good friend (and fellow Call of Duty fan :P), Sam Rodda.
Geared up with my filming gear, I teamed up with Dan Wooldridge from 2D Images and filmed their special day.

My wife Sonia made special guest appearance as maid of honour.

I got dragged into this photo. And no I don’t ever smile. It’s very rare to find a photo of me smiling.

11:00pm at Marion shopping center, a bit of carpark soccer for a mates bucks. The teams were about 20 vs 20. Shot by Daniel Cairns on his old Canon 550D.

Browsing through our external hard drive and found a photo Sonia took a few years ago for a friends CD cover and back art. The album was called “Come And Sit A While.” Taken at Glenelg, South Australia with our old buddy, the Canon 50D.

Well here’s something I didn’t expect. We randomly made the top 10 finalists in the Ikan Short Film Competition for our submission ‘Dan Ikan Episode 27: The Briefcase’
I never would have thought to be considered, let alone make finalist. Check out the other videos on vimeo here.

So about 4 weeks ago, I stumbled upon this short film competition called the HDSLR Revolution Short Film Competition. It’s been going since July so we were definitely behind when we decided to shoot this.

No storyboards, no game plan, no script. What we shot on the 4 hours of filming we did, was spontaneous and thought up on the fly. It also doesn’t make any sense, but at least it adheres to the brief. Hope you enjoy.

We have a nice supply of Moo products at the Fusion studio. Some which consists of some delicious Moo Rice Pudding. If you are into that sort of thing.
